Ultimate Thai Spas Worth Visiting Print E-mail

Ultimate Spas in Thailand

Thailand is known for its spas, and to not go and visit a spa while in Thailand is almost like going to the beach and not taking a well-deserved dip in the sea. Bangkok has an abundance of spas, and they are a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the metropolis.

Here are a number of reports on top Spas in Thailand.  Leaf through a short summary of some of the very best spas in Thailand for you to consider below:

  1. Chiva Som, if you’ve done any research into the best spas in the world and where the top celebrities go i.e. the likes of Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson, then you’d know about Chiva Som. Located near Hua Hin, it’s quite easy to get to from Bangkok, and it’s still a hot place to go for ultimate relaxation.  Expect slightly more ordinary accommodation made up by absolutely beautiful surroundings. Hua Hin is very pleasant  to visit, as it’s a small beach town near Bangkok (around two hours by car) and also the residence of the King. Along with enjoying treatment in its 40 treatment rooms, you can also try some Tai Chi and Thai Kickboxing lessons or for those who like to strut their stuff, there are the powerwalks on the beach.
  2. Six Senses Destination Spa Phuket is said to be giving Chiva Som a run for its money as top spa, and this is a newer spa that opened its doors a few years ago. The view and the whole experience is more glamourous than almost anywhere else, with gorgeous views of the Andaman Sea and a true sense of the exotic with beautiful villas surrounded by palm. A hot contender to Chiva Som, and definitely worth visiting while in Phuket.
  3. The Shambala at the Metropolitan Hotel in Bangkok features 10 treatments rooms, and is the largest in Bangkok. You can enjoy massages, body treatments and facials using indigenous natural products, oils and salt scrubs. This is a great spa to check out while in town.
  4. The Oriental Spa near the Oriental Hotel, Bangkok. This is just a short and fun boat ride across the Chao Phya River. A traditional teakwood house is filled with orchids, Thai antiques, a lily pond, soft lights and wonderful teak wood floors. Treatment rooms have private steam rooms and showers. Enjoy the Oriental Herbal Wrap whereby your skin is exfoliated with a honey, mind and lavender mixture made from leaves, flowers and seeds.
  5. Chi Spa at the Shangri-La Hotel, which combines Thai, Chinese and Himalayan traditions. You can take a three-hour traveller’s retreat which will help to recharge all your batteries. Or you can try the Himalyan Healing Stone Massage based on healing rituals of Lake Kokonar in Tibet. You get over two hours during which your body is massaged using oils, herbs, hot stone and then cool stones to balance any stress. Another great option for those in Bangkok seeking spa sanctuary.
There are more to add to this list, so do come back for further updates.
