Serious Shopping Spree in Thailand - Markets and Shopping

From 7+ days, but don't stay too long, as your luggage allowance may run out, let alone your wallet/purse dry up.

Want to go to Thailand and do some serious shopping, at least enough to fill your previously empty suitcases. Thai baht seem a little expensive at the moment?  No need to worry, there are real Thai markets that will save you a small fortune on your shopping bill, no matter what the exchange rate, and we've designed this theme for you.

• Day 1:  You arrive in Bangkok and you're taken to your chosen hotel in your limo.  Once you've had a chance to rest, our host will meet you at the hotel and give you details on where to shop until you drop. Here's your checklist of must dos:
• 1) Main shopping centres, Siam Paragon, Emporium, Central World, MBK
  2) Specialist markets Pratunam for fashion, Pantip for technology, floating market at Damnoen Saduak because it's famous, although you may be better off at Lak ka, Chatuchak weekend market
  3) Beach resort markets, Chiang Mai markets, visit markets in other cities
  4) Wholesale markets that Thai people go to in Bangkok, now you're talking
  5) Anything specialised that you fancy, gold, jewellery, dvds and cds, watches, etc., name it, we can find it.

• Days 2 and 3: You're now on your shopping spree, and you'll need to make sure you don't just see Siam Paragon, Discovery Centre and MBK (also known as Mah Boon Krong). Wonderful as they are, Siam Paragon and Discovery Centre are right in the middle of town, and you'll mostly get the top themed stores there that you'd find in other major cities around the world. MBK is of course a treat for those who like bargains in the middle of town, as there's lot to offer; but while you're in central Bangkok, you need to go to Pratunam for fashion shopping, where you?ll find those expensive new fashion clothes at a fraction of the price you're normally used to paying. For technology gadgets, DVDs, CDs and computer games, there's Pantip as well.  But still, you've only scratched the surface.  You can't leave Bangkok without having at least one night out in Suan Lum night bazaar with 3,700 shops open at night, where our host will take you for the evening in your limo. Another great option is Chatuchak weekend market with 15,000 stalls (yes, that many), but this in only open on weekends. But again, you've still only scratched the surface.

• Days 4 and 5:  Ok, now it's time to experience another destination, something different, with more shopping opportunities. Do you want to head for the beach and do some shopping while you take in the fresh sea air, then jump in the limo to Hua Hin or Pattaya, or we can fly you locally to one of the famous island resorts, or even go upcountry to Chiang Mai and do some serious shopping there.

• Days 6 and 7: You're back in Bangkok, and your suitcase is starting to fill up just a little, but you're still only warming up on your shopping spree. Ok, it's time for some wholesale market shopping - this is where the shopkeepers buy their stuff and you can go there as well. Visit some of the greatest wholesale markets in Bangkok, where you will be escorted by your host and your limo can collect and store your possessions. Now that's what we call shopping and it's starting to get hot and tiring after all that haggling. Time to get back to your hotel, relax.
